Coffee, Community, and the Ride
At Soave, coffee has always been about more than what’s in the cup. It’s about bringing people together, creating experiences, and building community.
Here in Squamish, those values naturally connect with another passion that defines our region: mountain biking and cycling in general.
The Connection Between Coffee and Cycling
For us, coffee and cycling were never two separate worlds. We are riders first. Long before Soave grew into what it is today, we were out on the Squamish trails at first light, meeting friends at the trailhead, and finishing rides the way so many people around here do, with a coffee in hand and a few stories to tell. The connection between the two was never a plan or a strategy. It simply reflected the way we already lived.
That is why coffee feels so woven into cycling for us. Whether the ride is mountain, road, or gravel, the café stop has become its own kind of ritual. It is the pause in the middle of the effort, the excuse to regroup, refuel, and catch up with the people you ride with. For a lot of us, that cup is as much a part of the day as the trail itself.
Mountain biking and coffee share the same culture too. Both are built around passion, routine, and a real pursuit of quality. Meeting friends before an early morning ride, stopping for a coffee after a day on the trails, gathering afterward to relive the adventure: coffee has always been part of that experience for us.
As Squamish has grown into one of the world’s premier mountain biking destinations, we’ve been fortunate to build relationships with riders, coaches, athletes, and outdoor enthusiasts who share our appreciation for craftsmanship, performance, and community.
Corsa Cycles will have a dedicated coffee bar at their new shop. Dropbar Cycles has an ECM Technika from us. Then there is Ridehub with their café setup…
A Shared Commitment to Excellence
At Soave, we work with people and brands that value quality in everything they do. That philosophy is reflected in our partnership with Profitec and ECM Espresso Coffee Machines, a company known worldwide for precision engineering and exceptional craftsmanship.
Just as cyclists rely on equipment that performs consistently in demanding conditions, coffee professionals depend on equipment that delivers exceptional results every day. It’s this shared commitment to excellence that makes the connection between coffee and cycling feel so natural.
Supported by Local Legends
Remy Metailler
Remy was looking for a high-end espresso machine but wanted to support a local business. We provided him with an espresso setup that met his needs for excellence equal to what expects from his bike. Remy owns an ECM Mechanika MAX. He is continuously refining his coffee knowledge and skills, comes in frequently to upgrade or add accessories.
Miranda Miller
We have known her for many years even when she was just hanging out and working at Corsa Cycles. We set her up back in 2018 with one of the first ECM Synchronika we sold, the flagship ECM model at the time. Miranda and her partner are coffee geeks! They love the gadgets and little tweaks to make coffee perfect.
Gracey Hemstreet
A rising star in Canadian downhill, Gracey picked up a Profitec Drive from us last year, a premium model in the same league as the Synchronika. We are still getting to know her, but her choice says it all: riders chasing the top of their sport tend to want the same level of quality in their coffee.
Supporting the Sea to Sky Community
Community has always been at the heart of what we do. Throughout Squamish, Whistler, and the Sea to Sky corridor, we’ve supported local events, fundraisers, group rides, community gatherings, and businesses that help make this region such a special place to live and explore.
Whether we’re providing coffee for an event, supporting local initiatives, or helping cafés and businesses serve exceptional coffee, our goal is simple: create meaningful connections and contribute to the communities that have supported us from the beginning.
More Than Coffee
Coffee has a unique ability to bring people together. It creates conversations, strengthens relationships, and turns everyday moments into memorable experiences.
For us, the connection between coffee and cycling is really about people. It’s about shared experiences, a love of the outdoors, and a community that values adventure, authenticity, and connection.
As Soave continues to grow, we’re proud to remain part of the culture that makes the Sea to Sky region so unique. One ride, one conversation, and one great cup of coffee at a time.
